Early Life
Jesse Jackson grew up under Jim Crow regulations, which required him to ride in the rear of the bus and use separate water fountains. Furthermore, he attended Sterling High School, which was segregated by race. Such encounters would eventually create the germ that would feed his desire to become a political activist.
