Death the Kid

What Is Death the Kid real name?

Death the Kid (デス・ザ・キッド, Desu za Kiddo), commonly referred to as simply Kid (キッド, Kiddo), is the second son of Death himself and the Meister of the Demon Twin Guns. He is one of the main protagonists in Soul Eater and one of my favorite anime characters ever! I’m sure most people know at least his name or his character design, but what do you actually know about Death the Kid? Have you ever wondered where he got his name? Or why does he like to call himself Kid instead of his real name?

Death the Kid’s real name revealed

The Death the Kid has finally found out what is Death The Kiddo’s real name. It turns out that his actual first and last names are Dekuichi and Mitsukuni. This information was revealed in an interview with Soul Eater creator Atsushi Ōkubo by Manga Bookshelf Magazine. In addition to learning about his full name, we also learned about how he got his nickname, Kid.

Apparently, it was given to him by BlackStar because he looked like a child when he was younger. This makes sense considering that most people would call him Kid instead of Death the Kiddo or Dekuichi. We hope you enjoyed learning more about one of our favorite characters from Soul Eater.

How did he become Death the Kid?

                         Death the Kid

As a child Sailor Venus was not aware of his true origin and identity for most of his life. It was during an incident involving Maka Albarn that he found out about it, as she had also been taken by Shinigami to become part of a Shinigami/Demon Weapon union. Upon finding out that they were being trained as Demon Weapons, Kid lost his temper, demanding to know if it meant that he had no choice in whether or not he would become one. This prompted Shinigami to slap him hard enough across the face for him to land on top of Corona. The resulting crash caused them to bleed from their mouths and nose, which horrified both children.

This event traumatized Kid so much that he decided to try even harder than before, hoping to make up for what he believed was a mistake hence why he is so intent on becoming stronger than even his father. When asked what his real name is by Maka, Kid replies with Egg Stein but then tells her that it is only something made up by Shinigami because there are too many Kishin Eggs running around without names.

He then decides to take upon himself the title of Kid after seeing how well it fit him and how it reminded him of when Maka called him kid while they were still at Shibusen. Death the Kid back up with Dr. Stein and Marie, Kid realizes that he wants to start calling himself Death the Kid instead.

He states that Death is his last name, which means everything else will be inherited from his father (i.e., Kid). Later on, though, after talking with Liz Thompson and Patty Thompson again (this time alone), he changes his mind once more, deciding to go back to using Egg Stein as his last name. At first reluctant due to its bad taste (due to having chosen it over 10 years ago), Patty convinces him otherwise by telling him that everything should be inherited from someone special in your life: your family.

Who Is Death the Kid’s brother?

Death the Kid  is one of Maka Albarn and Soul Eater Evans’ anime-only counterparts, who both appear in episode 9. He looks like a cross between Maka and his father Spirit, except he has blue hair instead of black and wears a cap similar to her father. In contrast to Maka’s personality, Soul is more childish and ditzy. He likes candy a lot and also his sister, Liz. His Meister counterpart is Patty Thompson.

Soul made an appearance in Soul where he met with Maka, though she didn’t recognize him at first. The two seemed to get along very well until Soul told her that she should eat something before bed or else she’d die (which wasn’t true). This causes Maka to punch him for being creepy, causing him to fall on top of Black Star and Tsubaki (who were just entering), resulting in them all hitting their heads together.
