Early life
Melora Hardin, the eldest daughter of two actors and an actress herself was born on June 29th 1967 in Houston Texas. She has a sister named Shawn who currently operates Flock after their father Jerry passed away from cancer twelve years ago.
Hardin attended the Patrick Henry Junior High School and Ulysses S. Grant High School before going onto college, where she graduated with a degree in English literature from Sarah Lawrence College.

Hardin began her acting career in 1977 by appearing as a child star on the TV series “Thunder”. She was with that show for one year before moving onto other roles and appearances, including more than 70 movie parts to date! In 1988 she starred alongside Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing where they played brother-and sister characters named Baby and Johnny.
She was initially selected to portray the role of Jennifer Parker in 1985’s science fiction movie “Back To The Future”. However, they later replaced her with Claudia Wells. She went on to star as cover girl for an FBI family series called Cover Me: Based On True Life Of An Agent Family.”
Hardin’s success didn’t stop there. She appeared in other movies and TV series, most notably the 2005 fictionalized telling of “Dynasty: The Making Of A Guilty Pleasure.” That same year she gained popularity after being cast as Jan Levinson for David Duchovny’s character redemption on NBC show “The Office”.

Hardin has made her Broadway debut playing the role of Roxie Hart in “Chicago: The Musical”.
