Robert A. Koick was born in 1963 in the United States. He spent his childhood growing in New York. Bobby showed his interest in business at a young age. While studying in high school, he has his own business card, and he runs a business by renting a Manhattan club at night.

Regarding his education, he attended the University of Michigan to study art history in the early 1980s. In 1983, while studying at Michigan University, he initiated a technology company, Arkronics along with his friend, Howard Marks. They work in their dorm room and develop software for Apple II. Then, they happened to meet with real estate developers, Steve Wynn, who invested $ 300,000 in their company.

Bobby and his friend, Howard decided to get out of the university to focus on their software business. Both young entrepreneurs took a big decision after meeting Steve Jobs, who advised them to get out of college. In 1987, after failing to persuade Commodore International’s-Chairman, Irvin Gould, to sell company control to him, he bought controlling shares in the concept of recreation.

Koick bought a 25% stake in Activision which was almost bankrupt in December 1990. The company was previously known as MediaGenic, which was changed to Activision later. In February 1991, he became an Activision CEO, and he acquired 9 development studios from 1997 to 2003. In 1995, he released the company’s first hit game.

In November 2006, he initiated a discussion of the merger of Activision with the Vivendi Game Division, including Sierra Entertainment and Blizzard Entertainment. Koick managed to engineer the merger which ultimately leads to the creation of a new company, Activision Blizzard.

Bobby Koick married a woman named Nina. He and Nina were separated by divorce at the end of 2012. Bobby shared three daughters with his ex-wife Nina. The oldest daughter, Grace Kotick is a graduate of Brown University. Likewise, the second daughter, Audrey is a graduate of Duke University who wants to serve in the government in Washington D. C. The youngest daughter, Emily is currently studying sports management at Michigan University.

Blizzard’s employees came out for the first time in July 2021 after the Department of Work and Housing California filed a 29-page lawsuit against companies that accused that women did not receive fair compensation compared to men.
