Early Life
22Gz was born on November 29, 1997, in the East New York area of Brooklyn, New York. Sadly, her father was shot dead just a few months before he was born. Also, his older brother was sentenced to 16 years in prison.

The rapper was raised in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn. Specifically, 22Gz grew up in the 1800 block of Nostrand Avenue. Interestingly, the 22nd in her stage name is called “tutu”, referring to 2 Lane Avenue in New Orleans, where her parents found out they were pregnant with her.

In a previous interview, the young rapper said he grew up listening to Meek Mill and Future. His sound was also inspired by Jadakiss, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, and Chief Keef. 2016 was the year when 22Gz started to gain momentum.
That same year he released the songs Blixky and Suburban, gaining fans with his YouTube music videos. The latter is considered to be an important song in the expansion of the Brooklyn piercing area. At the time, 22Gz was prominent in hip hop.
In 2018, he signed to Kodak Black’s Sniper Gang, a subsidiary of Atlantic Record. Later that year, he would collaborate with Kodak on a song entitled Spin the Block. The following year, 22Gz released its first full-length mixtape titled The Blixky Tape.

According to public information, 22Gz is single and childless. She is originally from Guyana. Interestingly, 22Gz and other New York artists Casanova, Pop Smoke, Sheff G, and Don Q were released from the Rolling Loud concert after the NYPD asserted that there could be an increase in violence if they sang.
Why is 22Gz in jail?
To this day, the rapper is not in prison. However, that was not the case in 2017 when he was sentenced to five months in prison for a second homicide related to a shooting in Miami, Florida.
Charges were later dropped. However, they are based on an incident where 22Gz (passenger) and his friend (driver) 22Gz is known for having Woo’s ongoing beef, including rapper Pop Smoke and Fivio Foreign. Earlier in 2021, she appeared in Hot 97 on freestyle on Funk Flex. Also, his track No Suburban Part 2 garnered a guaranteed gold standard.
