Compass Health Network is an organization that provides comprehensive health care services to all people, regardless of their ability to pay. Founded in 1970, the network now serves nearly 7,000 patients each year in eight different locations across northern New Jersey and Pennsylvania. As a federally qualified health center, Compass Health Network receives funding from several different sources, including Medicaid and Medicare, as well as private grants and donations. In addition to providing basic health care services like primary care and behavioral health counseling, Compass Health Network offers specialty services like podiatry and physical therapy to more than 1,300 different patients each year.
About Compass Health Network:
Located in Charlotte, North Carolina, Compass Health Network is a federally qualified health center and a nonprofit health care organization that provides services for individuals and families regardless of their ability to pay. CHN employs over 400 people, including physicians and clinical staff from various disciplines.
The organization offers care in primary care practices as well as dental, behavioral health and substance abuse treatment programs. In addition to serving patients at its three locations in Charlotte, CHN also provides specialty pharmacy services through its pharmacies in Statesville and Mooresville NC. CHN strives to be an integral part of its community by providing quality medical care that responds to community needs while maintaining affordable access for all members of our community. All services are provided on a sliding fee scale basis dependent upon income.
A portion of Compass Health Network’s revenues come from state, federal and local sources. Additionally, donations help us meet additional community needs. All contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We do not discriminate against any person because of race, color, national origin or disability in admission or access to any program or activity offered.
People who come to Compass Health have different kinds of challenges: some may have chronic conditions like diabetes or heart disease; others may need urgent care because they have recently lost their job; still others may need help dealing with mental illness or drug addiction issues.
Regardless of why people come, we provide them with high quality, compassionate care from a team that includes highly skilled physicians and nurses, as well as behavioral health specialists and other medical professionals. We believe that each person has unique needs and desires for his or her own life.
Our goal is to work together with our patients to help them achieve their goals for better health and wellness in all areas of life. We also strive to improve our community by developing partnerships with other organizations whose missions are consistent with ours and by providing education about health issues that affect us all.
Benefits of Compass Health Network:
If you are interested in helping others get access to affordable healthcare services, we want to hear from you! Come join us as we make a difference together! An example of how to do one, What Is a Health Center? A federally qualified health center (FQHC) is an independent, nonprofit clinic that provides comprehensive primary care and preventive services to people regardless of their ability to pay. FQHCs are required by law to serve all patients who qualify based on income, regardless of whether or not they have any form of insurance coverage.
Services provided by FQHCs are free or offered on a sliding fee scale basis. Each state has its own list of essential health services that must be provided at each FQHC site. For instance, some states require that an FQHC provide prescription drugs to patients while other states may require only over-the-counter medications be available.
In addition to providing medical services, many FQHCs also offer social support services such as case management and translation assistance for non-English speaking patients. Some even offer housing assistance and school supplies for children through special outreach programs geared toward preventing disease before it occurs rather than treating symptoms after they occur. Future of Compass Health Network:
It has been a challenging but rewarding year for Compass Health Network, and it’s hard to say which of these two aspects should be emphasized more. With several new community health centers opening, we’ve had to work harder than ever at growing our community ties and making sure that every community member knows we exist. But it hasn’t been too difficult, because we are building on decades of good will and a reputation for excellent medical care.
I believe that in another five years, even more people will have heard about us because our efforts over these next few years will definitely bear fruit. Our goal is to become one of the largest federally qualified DHR Health centers in America, and I believe we can achieve that goal by continuing to provide high-quality healthcare services.
Our staff members are dedicated professionals who want nothing more than to see their patients get better and with our new facilities and state-of-the-art equipment, they’ll be able to do just that. We may be located far from downtown Denver, but there’s no question that our community needs us now more than ever.
And thanks to some very generous donations from some very caring individuals, we’re ready to continue providing outstanding healthcare right here in Littleton. In fact, as part of an effort to make our operations even leaner and more efficient, we plan on closing down one of our clinics soon. We haven’t yet decided which clinic will close down or when exactly it will happen; those details are still being worked out between my staff and mine at the time of writing.
