Anime Quotes

First, we’re going to need to define what exactly an anime quote is before we start talking about some of the best anime quotes of all time. Simply put, an anime quote can be defined as any statement made by any character within the story itself, typically during the course of an anime or Japanese cartoon show or movie. Some anime quotes are meant to be humorous, while others are extremely deep and thought-provoking either way, they have almost universal appeal among most anime fans around the world!

Courage:

The definition of courage is much debated, but a good working consensus might be something like the ability to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty or intimidation. What makes characters in anime so inspirational? It could have something to do with their personal struggles no matter how difficult they are to identify with. They fight for what they believe in; they lead others, and they stand up against evil because it’s right.

These are all things that take a tremendous amount of courage, traits that everyone can draw upon as they strive for greatness. They never give up because it’s not just about themselves anymore. Anime characters always show courage in one form or another. Which anime quotes bring out your inner hero?

There are many anime quotes that will leave you feeling inspired and ready to take on any challenge. From Gundam Wing’s HeeroYuy: If it means survival, then I have no need for freedom. If it means being free, then I have no use for survival. To NarutoUzumaki from Nariño: I’m going to be Homage! In my village, when I become Hokage, everyone will acknowledge me and respect me! Anime quotes aren’t always about families, but those that are can really resonate with viewers. For example, in My Neighbors TheYamadas (1999), there’s a quote that says, Isn’t it wonderful? A child coming from another family is born into your own. She lives in your house just like one of your own… It’s what life is all about! This was made possible by our precious family system. That’s exactly how many anime fans feel about fandom itself it doesn’t matter if you’re blood-related or not, as long as you have a passion for anime and video games. There’s plenty to be said for family systems like that!

The quote, I don’t want to let you out of my sight, made by Chiaki in BokuwaTomodachigaSukunai (2011), can be taken both literally and figuratively. As a viewer, you could interpret anime quote it as Chiaki just wanting to spend time with Vozoras, but it could also mean that he’s uncomfortable with her being around other people.

Some viewers watch anime because they relate to certain characters or stories or  Jiraiya, while others watch because they’re interested in different cultures. Either way, anime fans have plenty of reasons why they’re watching!

Friendship:

True friendship multiplies joy and divides grief. Anne Bradstreet, The Author to Her Book (1656) · Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art. It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival with anime quotes.

C. S. Lewis A friend can tell you things you don’t want to tell yourself.  Bette Davis · Real friendship multiplies happiness and divides sorrow. Emilie Cady. Friends are those rare people who ask how we are and then wait to hear our answer before they go on with what they were doing.

Friends are like stars. You don’t always see them, but you know they are always there. One day you need them to feel complete and whole because it’s impossible to be lonely when you have friends. They make you happy for no reason at all and your heart becomes lighter when they come around; your life is better just by knowing that they care.

In some instances, friendships can bring us closer together with someone we love than any other thing in life: friendship multiplies joy and divides grief. We can share our deepest secrets with a friend and know that he or she will never judge us for doing so: honesty multiplies happiness, as well as friendship, because without honesty what do we have?
