Bear River Mental Health Also known as Dual Diagnosis, individuals with psychiatric disorders and substance use disorders require close collaboration between medical professionals and behavioral health professionals to best address their needs. A good example is cigarette smoking which negatively impacts emotional status including thoughts about suicide, concentration difficulties, impaired memory development and mood alteration amongst others.
Some of these emotional changes will reduce judgment making abilities thereby increasing risky behaviors like attempting suicide.
